The Western Iowa Football League offers three Flag Football divisions:
Games are played under NFL FLAG Football rules and are focused on skill development, participation, teamwork, and having fun.
Flex Football is the perfect bridge between Flag Football and Tackle Football. Players learn the fundamentals of football while wearing helmets and shoulder pads in a limited-contact environment. The focus is on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and preparing athletes for future tackle football opportunities.

If you have children participating in multiple divisions, a separate registration must be completed for each player.
Players should register under the town or school they attend. If a community has multiple teams within a division, coaches may divide rosters after registration to create balanced teams.
Some communities provide equipment through Western Iowa Football League, while others provide equipment independently.
For communities utilizing WIFL equipment, equipment checkout will take place in mid-to-late July. Specific dates, times, and locations will be communicated after registration closes.
Tackle Football is designed for players entering 5th and 6th grade who are ready to experience traditional full-contact football. Athletes will learn proper tackling techniques, blocking fundamentals, offensive and defensive concepts, while continuing to develop teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, and confidence on the field.
The Western Iowa Football League offers one combined Tackle Football division for 5th and 6th grade players. Teams compete in a 7-game regular season followed by bowl games at the conclusion of the season.
