 Flag Football is a fun, fast-paced introduction to the game of football for young athletes in Pre-K through 2nd grade. Players will learn the fundamentals of passing, catching, running, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a safe, non-contact environment. 

 The Western Iowa Football League is excited to partner with NFL FLAG Football for the upcoming season.

Through this partnership, every registered Flag Football player will receive:

• Official NFL FLAG reversible jersey
• Flag belt and flag set

The uniform package is included in the registration fee.

Each team will also receive one football for every five registered players.

This is a great opportunity for young athletes in Council Bluffs and Western Iowa to learn the game, wear NFL-style team gear, and be part of a fun, organized youth football experience.

 Flag Football is one of the fastest-growing youth sports in America, and for good reason. It provides a fun, exciting, and safe environment for young athletes to learn the game of football while building confidence, teamwork, and athletic skills.

Through our partnership with NFL FLAG, players receive official NFL FLAG uniforms and play under nationally recognized rules. WIFL Flag Football is designed to help young athletes develop football fundamentals, stay active, make new friends, and most importantly—have fun.

Whether your child is new to football or dreams of playing under the lights one day, Flag Football is the perfect place to start.

 The Western Iowa Football League offers three Flag Football divisions:

• Pre-K & Kindergarten
• 1st Grade
• 2nd Grade

Games are played under NFL FLAG Football rules and are focused on skill development, participation, teamwork, and having fun.

• Week 1: September 12
• Week 2: September 19
• Week 3: September 26
• Week 4: October 3
• Week 5: October 10
• Week 6: October 17

All games are played on Saturdays.

All Flag Football games are played at the Council Bluffs Recreation Complex located off 24th Street in Council Bluffs. 

 Registration opens June 22 and closes July 31.

There is one registration form for all Flag Football divisions. During registration, parents must select both the correct division and team/school for their player.

Divisions include:

• Pre-K & Kindergarten Flag Football
• 1st Grade Flag Football
• 2nd Grade Flag Football

Please carefully review your selections before submitting your registration.

 One of the most exciting parts of our NFL FLAG partnership is that teams can choose from any of the 32 NFL franchises for their uniforms.

Each team will have the opportunity to select their NFL team affiliation prior to the season. Because NFL FLAG jerseys are reversible, multiple teams may choose the same NFL team without creating uniform conflicts on game day.

Whether your player wants to represent the Chiefs, Vikings, Packers, Bears, Cowboys, Eagles, or any other NFL team, there is an option for everyone.

SIZING CHART IS BELOW, PLEASE REVIEW PRIOR TO REGISTRATION

 Players are encouraged, but not required, to register under the school they attend.

During registration, parents may request a preferred coach. Players who register under a school will either be placed with their requested coach (when possible) or assigned to a team by the coaches representing that school.

Coaches who plan to form a team that is not affiliated with a specific school should contact Tanner Frain prior to registration opening. Once approved, the team name will be added to the registration system so players can register directly to that team.

Flag Football team rosters should have a minimum of 6 players and a maximum of 10 players.
